“It really depends on my mood when I wake up. I try to mix a lot of different elements, it can be a bit more classy, a bit more street, a bit more extravagant, and a bit more feminine, it really depends.”

Can you describe your style?
D: I would say a collective. It really depends on my mood when I wake up. I try to mix a lot of different elements, it can be a bit more classy, a bit more street, a bit more extravagant, and a bit more feminine, it really depends.
Do you mix menswear with womenswear?
D: Yeah, as well definitely. For instance, these are my girlfriend’s pants for example. I just try to check what fits well.
Can you tell more about what you are wearing?
D: This bag is functional, because of the pockets. I can even fit a book in there. So, both my bag and jacket are vintage. Pants are my girlfriend’s, I really like the loose fit. I also have a little scarf that I sometimes use. I cut it up from a t-shirt, because I did not have a scarf, so I needed a quick solution. I also wear a basic corduroy jacket from Levi’s. Often, I am just mixing a lot of vintage items.
Can you describe your relation with fashion?
D: I do like fashion a lot. I check a lot of fashion shows, fashion photography. I also do like to express myself in a way I dress.
“For me it’s about putting my own feelings into it. It’s the way I try to dress myself.”
Are you trying to send a message through your clothing?
D: Not really a message. Just to express my things and thoughts, but not really with specific agenda like I want to express that or this. For me it’s about putting my own feelings into it. It’s the way I try to dress myself.
Why are you at De KLOFFIE Markt?
D: Well, I was coming to pick up a scarf from a friend of mine. He had a stall there. I did see about it online, but first, it was not my intention to come. But now that I am here I saw a lot of good stuff, so I need to go next time.
Do you only buy second-hand?
D: It depends. But there has been a shift definitely to more vintage pieces. For example, now I mostly go to vintage stores to get more unique things as well, and definitely support slow fashion. I try to be more sustainable. You know, my closet is getting too big, so I try not to buy new things.
